Real Number System I

This course is designed for Junior High School Graduate who are preparing to enter Senior High School. The Course focuses on introduction to core mathematics and learners will study Real number systems, which happens to be a foundation to core mathematics. Learners will be taking through some basic concepts in core mathematics which are related to Real Number Systems. We will use text, audios , presentations and videos in facilitating this course. The course is also designed in such a way that learners will be asked to perform some learning task.

Topics to be covered include the following but not limited to them:

1.Numbers and Numerals

2. Integers

3.Common Fractions

4. Decimal Fractions

Each of the above topics will be related to real life situation during facilitating period.

Objectives:

by the end of this course a learner will be able to

• explain what constitute real number system
• identify both rational and irrational numbers by giving examples each

• outline properties of Irrational Numbers

• mention some Facts about Irrational Numbers

• distinguish between rational and irrational numbers
